Privacy Policy

In short: Agent Limit runs on your Mac. It reads the sign-ins your AI tools already saved, only to ask those same providers how much of your allowance you've used. We don't run servers that receive your usage, your tokens or your code. We don't use analytics or tracking in the app.
What the Mac app reads on your Mac
- Sign-ins your tools already saved. Claude Code's Keychain item or
~/.claude/.credentials.json, Codex's~/.codex/auth.json, and Cursor's local settings database. These are only read. Agent Limit never refreshes, changes or copies them anywhere else. - Local session logs in
~/.claude/projectsand~/.codex/sessions, to count tokens and show your active session. This happens entirely on your Mac. - Running apps and processes, only to tell whether a coding agent is active so the notch can show or hide.
What the Mac app sends, and where
- To each AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor, xAI): a request for your usage, made with that provider's own sign-in and sent only to that provider's servers.
- To Polar, our payment and licensing provider: your license key and your Mac's name, when you activate, check or deactivate the license.
- To agentlimit.app: a request for the latest version, about once a day, so the app can offer updates. Like any web request, this includes your IP address and the app and macOS versions. We don't use it to identify you.
What stays on your Mac
Your license key and any xAI management key you enter are stored in the macOS Keychain. Settings are stored in the app's preferences. A diagnostics log is kept at ~/Library/Logs/AgentLimit.log. It never contains tokens or keys, and it never leaves your Mac unless you choose to send it to us.
When you buy
Purchases are handled by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar processes your payment details under its privacy policy. We never see your card details. We receive your name, email address, country and order details, so we can deliver your license key, provide support and handle refunds.
This website
agentlimit.app is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs such as IP address and browser type for security and reliability. The site doesn't set tracking cookies or use advertising trackers.
Your choices
You can turn providers off, turn off update checks in Settings, or delete the app at any time. To ask about the purchase information we hold, or to have it deleted, email epictools.io@gmail.com. Some records may need to be kept for tax and accounting.
